Wordful Wednesday

Okay so I went to the winery yesterday to replenish my wine stock and didn’t think to take my camera with.
Who would have thought the waterfall would still be running? I seriously thought they would have drained the pond for winter, but I guess they don’t. Therefore I took this with my cell phone.
Yes, it’s completely frozen over. All except a tiny trickle you can hear running behind the big icicles. I thought it was very neat nonethless.

Tribute Tuesday – My Christopher

Welcome to TRIBUTE TUESDAY a chance to let that someone who has made a difference in your life feel special by paying them tribute.

Since this is my very first tribute I feel it necessary to pay tribute to my wonderful husband Christopher.

Chris is just so awesome in so many ways.

He is funny, he always makes me laugh.

He is caring. He truly cares for everyone, not only the children he cares for at the children’s hospital in which he works, but each and every person he meets.

He is a great friend.

He is a wonderful Father to his daughter Brittneigh and his stepsons Cory and Cade.

He is not only my very best friend, but the best husband you could ever ask for. He works lots and lots of very long hours so I can stay home with my boys through the week. He helps out with the house work, dishes, laundry with an occasional hand in the kitchen. He even hired a cleaning person for me when my allergy to dust became unbearable and started affecting my asthma.

He never forgets a special occasion. He spoils me badly, in every way.

I feel I’m the luckiest person in the world since he came into my life.

This tribute is for you honey.

I Love You – Always.

Feel free to pay tribute to someone who is special in your life and then hop on over to Wayne’s Window to the World and sign his Mr. Linky and see other tributes to special people.

Okay, So I Don’t Have Bed Head, But This Is Me Right Now

Liz decided today would be a grand day to tag everyone that reads her Not Me! Monday post with the following meme.

Rules:

1) Take a picture of yourself right NOW!
2) DON’T change your clothes; DON’T fix your hair… Just take a picture.
3) Post that picture with NO editing.
4) Post these instructions with your picture.

Lucky for me I was just on my way out the door to shop when I saw this and had already showered and was dressed. I also was in a hurry and didn’t have the time to search for another camera lens so about 2/3 of my face is all you get today folks.

I’m also going to tag everyone that reads today so get to it folks.

Not Me! Monday

It’s that time again. Time for confessions of all things you did NOT (really did) do this past week. This wonderful little (not so much) group therapy session was created by the fantastic MckMama.
To play along with us write a post about all the things you “didn’t” do this week then go to My Charming Kids and add your name to Mr. Linky at the bottom of her “Not Me Monday” post. Come on you know you’re just dying to fess up.

This week:

* I did NOT have to lift my doggies up the porch steps when their little bodies froze from the subzero temperatures we had on Thursday night.

* I did NOT invite my completely outside doggy inside on the night it was 9 degrees below zero out of the goodness of my heart only to have him show his appreciation by hiking his leg on my dining room table and go potty. I did NOT immediately send him back outside to spend the night on his heating pad on the front porch.

* I did NOT crack up and point and laugh (because it makes her mad) at my favorite pug when she spent 5 minutes turning in circles just to find the perfect spot in the yard to go poopy.

* I did NOT learn that my sister in law rides her 4-wheeler around her neighborhood in a sundress without panties. Every person in her neighborhood does NOT know what her tushy looks like.

* This does NOT crack me up, or my Mom, or my Dad, or my Brother, etc. etc. etc.

Good Grief! You Would Think We Were Having a Blizzard.

This week Chris and I worked the night shift on Tuesday. Upon leaving at 7:30am we were actually getting some snow.

I drive from my hospital up north down to pick up Chris at his hospital downtown. This part of the trip takes approximately a half hour. (USUALLY)

On this morning it took me an hour and a half.

We knew this weather was coming, so why weren’t the roads treated as such?

The entire trip which is usually an hour and a half ended up taking us three hours.

Why?

This is all the snow we got.

It wasn’t even enough to cover the leaves in the yard completely.

It was rather pretty and still is because:

the temperatures have been like what you see above.

My other issue with the weather is the fact they are closing school. Why? Because the temperatures are so cold? I mean do the schools have heat or not? Do Eskimo children get days off school when the temperatures drop to -10 degrees? I think not. Can’t parents dress their children accordingly? Don’t get me wrong, I love that my little guy will be home with me, but it just means he’ll have to make the day up later in the year.
When the weather is nice.

Wordful Wednesday

These girls are awesome!!
*
They are my BFF’s 10 year old twins.
*
The ones I borrow when I miss not having girls of my own.
*
One is a girly girl.
*
The other not so much.
*
Can you tell the difference?
*
Not so much when they’re with Aunt Kim.
*
They both turn into girly girls then.
*
We do nail polish, makeup, hair. . . .the works.
*
. . . .and because I have a tattoo of a daisy on the top of my foot.
*
so must they.
*
So out come the markers.

This week:

* I did NOT on only 1 occasion last week stay up nearly all night long so that I could snuggle up and sleep with hubby during the day. Only to NOT have my sleep plans destroyed by the fact that my youngest child had a snow day and therefore would be home with me all day. I did NOT put on a grin and and bear it for my coworkers. Luckily my patients are newborn babies and didn’t suffer much from my zombie-like attitude and appearance.

* I did NOT purchase Rock Band for my kiddos this week less than a month after Christmas because they are NOT spoiled children. I did NOT crack up inside my mind at my seven year old who inside his mind truly believes he is a rock star. It is NOT at all cute and fun to watch.

* I did NOT take my seven year old and my friend Angie’s youngest 2 children to Bounce Zone while she went to have her hair done. I was NOT at all nervous about the fact that my child has ADD (he’s mentally hyperactive) and one of hers has ADHD and wondered how I would keep up with both of them. They were NOT perfectly behaved children the entire afternoon.

* I do NOT sit here looking at the Christmas tree wishing for it to disassemble and put itself away.

*I was NOT very happy and relieved that the snow/ice storms that were supposed to make their way here completely bypassed our state this weekend. It does NOT seem like they always manage to appear on the nights that we have to travel to work.

Now you all know what to do. So just do it.

Bounce!

Monday Cade had an extra day off for his winter break that his siblings didn’t get so we decided to have one more big hoorah before he had to return to the classroom. (At the time we didn’t know the weather would be bad overnight and he ended up with a snow/ice day on Tuesday)

My friend Angie and I decided to get the kids together for a day at Bounce Planet.

After driving over an hour and a half to get there we found the place closed.

Not cool.

So luckily the other bounce place (Bounce Zone) in town was open so that’s where we ended up.

He was just a little excited about the day.

Mason has the funniest expressions.

. . .and is extremely difficult to keep up with.

maybe even just a little camera shy.

Austin (the big brother) didn’t want to bounce so he came later to go out for a late lunch with us.

Maddie though is not camera shy at all.

Pretty sure this one was worn out at the end of the day.

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday

These are my parents.

This photo was taken at their wedding reception in 1967.

They started dating when my Mom was a mere 14 years old.

Here, she is 17 years old.

My Dad had just enlisted in the USAF to avoid being drafted and not having a choice as to what branch of the military he would join. . . . . . . . . . .because:

He was going to Vietnam.

They were already engaged, but just did not want to wait till he returned (if he returned) to be married.

He returned.

Of this I am thankful.

So I could be more than just that little twinkle in his eye.
